If you're the type of person who loves doing everything yourself, then you'll love today's blog post as we'll be sharing "3 Places You're Forgetting to Clean."
You see, we've been in business for a very long time and we've seen it all. But, most importantly, we've seen where dust and dirt accumulates - places that customers sometimes don't even think about. Now, we're confident you do a great job cleaning your home, but we'd like to share with you three particular places we notice get overseen by our customers or their current cleaning service so that you can rest assured that your home is being cleaned appropriately.
First of all, we want to point out that the following areas we're about to mention should be checked on a regular basis. As you'll see, these are areas the many times tend to be overlooked, but that with time can become harmful to your health (especially if you have any breathing conditions; such as asthma). So, please check them regularly or ask your service technician to do so on a regular basis.
Place #1: Fan blades Yes. Dust accumulates here in great amounts. Now, since fans are way up high in the ceiling we, many times, tend to not pay attention to them. However, you'd be surprised how much dust can gather on the blades if they're not cleaned on a regular basis. Now, we're still in late winter, but come summer you're going to start using those fans and the last thing you want is to be breathing all of that dust that's been sitting there. To clean them, all you need is a damp cloth or towel. Brace the fan blade carefully from both sides and slide outward. We recommend you use a face mask as a lot of dust can come your way and, again, you do not want to breath that dust. Also, it goes without saying, but please be careful when using a latter. Place #2: Vents Okay, this is very similar to place #1 in that a lot of people don't look at their vents on a regular basis. But, you'd be surprised to find out how much dust builds up on the vent blades. Did you know that simply changing your system filter is not enough? Why? Well, the filter is a method of making sure that the air that flows out is as clean as possible. But, what we're talking about is the actual vent - the area in the wall where the air comes out from. That vent has blades that, normally, can be opened or closed. Well, it is those vents that need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Again, come summer, and living in Southern California, you're going to be using your home air conditioning system at full blast. So, please take some time to check the air vents or ask your cleaning service to do so on a regular basis. Place #3: Door and window frames Finally, we want to talk about door and window frames. Ever think about those? Now, we're not talking about the doorknobs or window edges. We're talking about the frames around the actual door and the windows. Dust accumulates a lot in these inconspicuous places and customers are sometimes surprised when we show them how much build up exists around the frames. If you think about it, it makes sense. Every time you open your doors and windows a little bit of outside air - which includes dust - enters your home; and, we believe, that most of it stays right there on the door and window frames. Similar to the previous two places, you can clean the door and window frames with a damp towel; and, yet again, we recommend you wear a face mask, especially if you or your cleaning service has not cleaned this area recently. That concludes the "3 Places You're Forgetting to Clean". Please let us know down in the comments section what you think. Have you been keeping up with these places? Remember, to ask your cleaning technician or service to check these areas on a regular basis. The Window Cleaner assumes all risk associated with the task. Homeowners and some unskilled contractors may view the cost of such a cleaning as extravagant. Amazing outcomes are possible with diligence and skill in this method. I really value all of the information you have provided here, so thank you very much for putting this together. Fantastic piece!
